Loving The Laser!

Photos of Peak Nine using our red and green lasers to get layouts dialed in perfectly. Peak Nine is always investing in new technology to be as accurate and efficient – and cost effective – as we can be.  These tools have become a huge help in getting our layouts done.  And that means great results for our clients!

Planning For Perfection!

Photo of laser in the planning phase

“Plans are of little importance, but planning is essential” -Winston Churchill
We see a lot of DIY’ers -and even some tradespeople- get excited about the plan and start in on the project. Without sound planning. This photo is a large basement we are about to work on. We are laser validating the floor level after demolition. One of several basics steps in the planning phase.
The homeowner is wisely stoic about the actual work. Sure they are excited to see results, but very willing to take the time to see what’s behind those walls, what shape the floor is in after flooring is removed, and even whether re-setting that pool table really will enhance the new room, now that they see what it’s like without it.

If you’re hiring a pro, it’s not only OK, but critical for you to ask them about their planning process. And ask to be included!

Think of it this way: if you’re talking to your doctor about a surgery, you’re not just going to assume your doc knows everything and blindly trust her or him. You’re going to want to understand why, how, other options and how this approach is best for you and your family. And you might get other opinions, right? Remodeling isn’t on that level, but a major project is important to most people!

We’ll end with another famous quote by Benjamin Franklin. “By failing to prepare (plan), you are preparing to fail”
